Templates and Learning Aids That I Have Created
these are useful templates that I have made to help improve study skills and aid in learning that, I have had success using these templates both personally and with students that I have worked with
Note Taking Aid for University 101-202 Level Language Classes, or High School Language Classes Using a Textbook (Beginning-High Intermediate)
This is a template that I created as a sort of side by side template to reading and using a language textbook. By having the student be aware of any new or difficult topics or items that they are learning, as well as giving them opportunities to take note of good sentences, or create their own sentences, they are activating their explicit learning of the subjects. Also, by starting with the question "what did you cover last class" the students are given the opportunity to activate their past knowledge, and in a way to do a sort of pre-reading before they go in to covering the day's lesson.
This could be used as either something that is printed, or something that they transfer into their notebook, the first and third column can be in the margins, and the student can write the prompts where they would fall on their notebook page.

Persuasive/ Argumentative Essay Template
This template was created to be a sort of free flow/ free write activity, where a student that had a persuasive or argumentative essay to work on could go through this and answer the questions given. These questions are some examples of what a teacher might ask to prompt a student to understand and start the essay. It is also useful because it gets the student to start writing about the topic, and both the physical and mental act of creating answers to these questions will help the student to create their persuasive esay.
Ideally this template would be form fillable so that the student would be able to go through it and type their responses, engaging the method through which they would be writing their paper: typing. But as it is, it would probably be best as a printed document, or electronically transmitted to a class, and they could respond to the given prompts in their notebook, or in a word document.

Half Way There!
This is an easily altered template that can be tailored to the students' classes and upcoming requirements. Students, and teachers, will often refer to the second half of a quarter, semester, unit, etc. as the final stretch. This template can be altered to accommodate up to six different classes comfortably, and the dates and week numbers can also be easily changed.
It is useful because this way students are able to have a compressed list of every assignment that is coming up and everything that they have to do for each class in one place, instead of spread throughout syllabi or individual class schedules. Students could use this template to assess which weeks will be more difficult, or which weeks they will need to take advantage of to prepare for future weeks etc. This is also something that a student could physically take to a teacher and go through with a teacher to fill out to make sure they know all of their requirements and have them all planned out. It's also a useful tool because students can then cross out weeks or assignments they have finished to see that they are getting it done and making progress.
This template could be printed out or drawn out in a notebook or on a page that the student would use.

- If you choose to download this word document, you can easily add more columns (classes) by right clicking in the furthest right hand column, and going to insert column to the right.
- I have also included an example of what a filled out basic half way there template might look like, students could then go in and hand write assignments that come up
