Chelsea grew up in a small town in Hawaii called Kahalu'u where the tradewinds bring rain almost every day, the chickens cluck from sun up til sun down, and small town charm and aloha are abound. She attended Punahou School in Manoa, Hawaii for 13 years; a private school with a public mission. This experience and dedication to service shaped Chelsea into the educator, trainer, designer, and content creator that she would later become. While at school, Chelsea loved learning about linguistics, French, Spanish, Japanese, German, language pedagogy, sociology, and other courses that helped to shape her into a global citizen. Through her studies, she gravitated towards a desire to work with other people to help them unlock new information. Seeing that lightbulb go off became her driving force. After graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree double majoring in French Language, and Second Language Studies, she went on to work with Teach for America as a corps member teaching sixth grade students at Wheeler Middle School in Wahiawa, Hawaii. Upon completion of her commitment to Teach for America in 2016, having earned her Master of Science degree in Secondary Education from Johns Hopkins University, she moved to San Diego, California where she accepted a role with Achieve3000. During her work as a Professional Services Director, she trained teachers and other key stakeholders on how to successfully implement Achieve3000's online platform and student success program. In 2020, she moved to Maryland where she pivoted to working in the government sector. While working with Cybervance, Inc., she supported a contract within CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) to design and develop internal training and communications for their cyber security Incident Management Team. As of July 2022 Chelsea is working with DTS supporting a contract within GSA (U.S. General Services Administration) where she initially worked to support training and instructional design initiatives within the PMO and enterprise as a whole, and has shifted to the role of Task Lead in support of PMO communications initiatives.
